Nuclear North Korea

Well, here he is again! Same as before. Shootin' from the hip and still not limited by facts.

"Democratic Sen. John Kerry, the president's rival in 2004 and a potential 2008 candidate, assailed Bush's policy as a "shocking failure," and said, "While we've been bogged down in Iraq where there were no weapons of mass destruction (Note: Remember that Kerry saw all of the intelligence reports and agreed at that time with President Bush that we had to invade Iraq), a madman has apparently tested the ultimate weapon of mass destruction." (Reported by Yahoo).

The Senator from Mass. failed to identify that the source of both the financial aid and free nuclear technology was the good ol' USA and the Clinton Administration!!! This fact is undisputed...but.... There was a condition that President Bill put on Kim Jong Il, just promise you will only use it for white water reactors (electricity). Of course they agreed, and went about their business designing a big energy system. Puts out a whole lot of power for a few short seconds. But the best part is that you and I paid for it.... $640 million dollars plus the cost of blue prints. I think Ken Starr was looking into the wrong "white water". He looked at a good ol' boy Arkansas land deal that slick Willy & Hilly were involved in. Somebody should have been paying closer attention to the good ol' boy backdoor deal that slick Willy put over on North Korea and Kim Jong Il. Talk about faulty intelligence! Clinton actually thought this would work. After all, Kim Jong Il promised peaceful use only! Perhaps the Senator from Mass would have felt better if we abandoned the search for Bin Laden and went into North Korea after Afghanistan?

What should President Bush have done? We tried diplomacy. The fact is that the Russians and Pakistaini folks were North Korea's supplier of material bought with American dollars. Should Bush have cancelled Clinton's deal with Kim Jong Il? That would have been at the expense of South Korea and major Asian instability. The best answer would have been don't do the deal in the first place. That was stupid!

I can't agree with you 100 percent but I agree somewhat. My take is that with Bush, we have basically no foreign policy at all, and the good relations with other countries that Clinton helped to build have all but been destroyed. Instead of being seen as a shining beacon that promotes peace and goodwill, our country is viewed as not very prudent, using our military recklessly and without careful planning, dismissing the Geneva Convention, using torture, and holding suspects indefinitely without a trial. The rest of the world's view of our country has changed dramatically, and North Korea knows this, and it has Emboldened Kim Jung Il. Bush started his own "jihad" with the invasion of Afghanistan and then Iraq, without a competent strategy. "Let's go kick some A@#" was the battle cry after 9/11, and that we did...without weighing the circumstances....and we Still haven't gotten Osama Bin Laden.

I have to ask... Is this is your opinion, I'll take it as that, but if someone is feeding you this information as factual, that's a different matter all together. It doesn't fly!

Rick and Kathy also claim to be Christian liberals. They always spew the party line. Oh well. It's a free country, but not because of folks like them. I wonder what they'll say when a Dem takes office, terrorists hit NY again, and North Korea launches a missile at Seattle?

It's my opinion, based on the facts as I see them. I know my opinion is not shared by everyone, it is just my opinion.

I've noticed that douglas v gibbs likes to launch Personal attacks against those who disagree with him. That's ok, I can handle it...actually it is funny.

Kerry in '08? I thought he learned his lesson? Here we go with the inconsistancies. Ya know, some will say anything...whatever way the wind is blowing they are there. That is Kerry's middle name. John-ride-the-wind-Kerry. Or, John-ride-the-polls-Kerry. That's another thing Clinton did that drove me nuts. He watched the polls and whatever way was popular, he did it. No backbone. Opps! Sorry. This isn't suppose to be about Clinton. (really, I am not a Clinton basher LOL)
